It is hard to know what vitamins to be taking and whether or not you need to be taking something every day. Generally most people have taken a multivitamin at some stage in their life, during their childhood, teenage years, preconception, pregnancy, or over 50. Multivitamins are fantastic if you are in good health as they contain small amounts of vitamins and minerals, you can think of them as a nice top up to an already healthy individual. As our soils are depleted of nutrients due to over farming and our fruit and vegetables picked too early it means that even if we eat a perfectly ideal diet we probably will not be getting adequate nutrients. This is where a multivitamin can come in handy as it adds a top up of the nutrients you may be lacking without treating something specific. If you do have any under lying conditions a multivitamin may not be enough to treat something specific.
There are a multitude of different brands available and it is important to pick one that suits you. Some may have more B vitamins in them, some with more magnesium, some are vegan, and some are focused on antioxidants to name a few! Our Naturopath Sarah can help find a multivitamin to suit you and your needs. Comments are closed.
