 You may have sleep apnoea. Individuals who have sleep apnoea often unknowingly experience partial or complete blockage of the throat, due to the muscles relaxing too much and collapsing on itself. This obstruction reduces or stops breathing for a short period of time on multiple occasions throughout the night. It leads to a reduction in blood oxygen levels and lowers the quality of sleep.
